What really matters in life? Talk about a loaded question. For me the things that really matter are as follows: Family, friends, soccer. I know. Weird list right? Let me explain. Family always comes first. No matter what. Family will always be there when needed just like I will always be there for family when they need me. I'm not just talking about my immediate family. I am talking about extended family as well. As crazy as my family seems, I wouldn't give them up for anything. I love my family.
Next comes friends. For me good friends are almost like family. I don't have very many good friends. In fact, I would say I don't have very many friends at all. I know a lot of people, and I get along with just about everybody. But are they really friends? I would say they are acquaintances. Friends are people that know just about everything about you. They are there when you need a shoulder to cry on. And they come to you when they need a shoulder to cry on. Without friends life can be extremely lonely. I know this from personal experience. Friends are one thing that I have had very few of in my life. I cherish the friends I do have. A good friend is hard to come by so don't ever take a good friendship for granted. I am extremely grateful for the friends I have. They have done more for me than they will ever know.
Now on to soccer. Why is soccer on my list? Simple. It is the one thing that I have had consistently my whole life. I have been playing since I was five. Not only does it keep me in shape, it gives me something to do to relieve stress. I have had some great times playing soccer. I have met some great people. I have played teams from around the world even. I love playing the game and I look forward to playing for a long time to come.
I am sure some people are probably thinking that my list is completely wrong. Where is Heavenly Father? Jesus Christ? They aren't listed. Why now? To me they are family. Plain and simple. No other explanation is needed.
This is just another glimpse into my crazy mind.
